Me personally, I'd rather die naturally
gee, who wouldn't...... at least I'm able to protect myself if someone tries otherwise.
i thought i would open up a thread on firearms and shooting.
personally i was raised around firearms as my dad was not a jw.
some of my earliest memories are of my dad teaching me how to put a round in a fleas ass at 200 meters.

(note: i've been somewhat of a ranting atheist for the last year or two but i've tried to be nice with it!).
if a human father punishes his disobedient children by killing them he will be locked up if not executed.
however, most people would concede that such a man must have had severe mental and/or emotional problems to have reached that point.
If we believe that he created the unquestioned beauty that exists, that he chose to give life to species great and small and to crown it all with his 'masterpiece', intelligent and creative humanity made in
For me, that sentence is the starting point in begining to understand God.
His image how do we explain his descent into the homicidal, butcher we are now confronted by?
Since God doesn't change..... who descended? The parts of the bible that 'explain' away God as other than the loving Creator that you mentioned are very suspect for me..... some of the writers of the bible were men with their own jaded, pompous opinions on what God did or didn't do.... does that make it a true picture of the Creator>
If nothing else, study of different religious perspectives will give you new insight into your own beliefs.Well said. Since the Creator is involved with all mankind, makes sense to me that one should be concentrating on the good and positive aspects of all religions - that would give a clearer picture of God than dwelling on some man-made, negative concept of the Almighty which contridicts itself.
hi gang,.
i've transcribed the phone conversation with the two elders last week.
(accidentally recorded over the last 5 minutes.
It read like an intricate "Who's On First".... you played it very well. What a bunch of schmucks!
dear members of this forum:.
we all have different opinions, and can argue our points "ad nauseam" but we live free, are able to speak our minds, and worship as we wish..or not.. i am not registered red or blue, but appreciate living in this country and the freedom to think for myself.
i am wishing you all a great 4th and am glad most of you are my neighbors in one way or another!.
Getting the bar-b-que prepared for tomorrow. Thanks to the Brits for "giving" us a reason for this holiday....we miss you....
with all those nukes out there, and all the countries that have them or are making them.
do you think it is something we should expect, that in our lifetime a nuclear weapon will be used in war or an act of terrorism?
i personally think it is possible, and i think it would be the middle east that would see this happening.
Isreal won the six day war, because of a mistake made by their enemies. That mistake has long since been corrected, and they could not win a conventional war if it was held today, against all the surrounding countries.
Of course, that was what the "surrounding countries" thought when they went up against Israel and LOST in 1948, 1967 and 1973. It was the Israeli Air Force that 'settled' Sadam building a nuclear plant in the early '80s. Unlike those previous conflicts, Egypt and Jordan wouldn't get involved.
soccer could be played without using a ball and nobody would notice.
come on, an hour and a half of watching a big pinball machine, with players falling down writhing in fake agony trying to get bogus fouls called?
endless arguing with refs over tedious rules violations.
well id like to say your american so you dont understandbut im inclined to say...you have a point
I think you both have a point.... visually, it appears boring, yet I think the excitement is for those who've actually played the game and know how difficult some of the plays are. I think Americans are starting to appreciate it more because for the past 10 years or so, they've started to play in in school. Now take Baseball.... I grew up playing it, LOVING it, because of the seemingly infinite number of staregies going on; yet, if I knew little about the game and were just to be a spectator, I think I would be equally as bored. "Play Ball"!

i met this man in texas that is a witness.
we talked for several hours, but what he really was focusing on was the un involvement.
i've looked all over the interet again and again and can not find the letter where the un acknowledged the that the witnesses were involved in the u.n. .
If you look hard enough, you will find any information you need on the internet, wether its true or not.
Correct. And THIS letter is TRUE.
Sandy.... here's one of them.

In my experience, I have known at least three people personally where the presense of a gun probably saved their lives. And in two cases, no shots were fired.
That was my experience. Years ago, out in the Nevada desert, a group of drunk young guys in a truck were having 'fun' running people off of a mountain road, including myself. I just stuck my unloaded .30 / .30 out the window ..... from then on, they played "nice" on down the mountain.
